8 Best Ad networks for amateur blogger

There are different Ad network for bloggers. But this 8 Best Ad networks for amateur blogger blog monetization is the key objective for every new blogger. In order to monetize your blog, you have to place ads on your blog. One of the best methods for blog monetization is to become a publisher. After joining as publisher for different ad networks, you need to place their ads on your blog.

Small blogs usually cannot get AdSense approval, so I have found several other good Ad networks for new bloggers.

At the same time, there are many ad networks in the industry. But not all of these ad networks are good. They may end up cheating bloggers by refusing to pay even when the minimum payout is reached.
In general, ad networks serve In-text ads, Contextual Ads, CPM Ads, CPC Ads, Banner Ads, Pop-Under Ads, CPA Ads, CPS Ads, Affiliate Networks, CPA Affiliate Networks and Native Ads.

How Exactly Do Ad Networks Make You Money?

Most of them are either Pay Per Click or Cost Per Thousand. Pay Per Click, or PPC means that you get a little money every time your readers click your ads. Cost Per Thousand, or CPM, means that you get a certain amount of money per thousand views the ad receives.

If you're new to blogging, you should know that you can't get away with clicking your own ads to earn money, or asking your friends and family to click them for you. The ad networks have ways of knowing when this is going on and they won't hesitate to take your account away from you and never give it back. Don't be one of the people that have to learn that lesson the hard way.

How Much Can You Make From An Ad Network?

This will depend greatly on how much traffic your blog receives. People with millions of page views per month might make in the thousands or even tens of thousands per month with their ad networks, where people with a few hundred or a few thousand page views a month might not even make more than $10 or $20 a month.

There are exceptions of course, and it's also worth noting that some ad networks perform better than others. You just have to kind of experiment around and see what works best for your blog.

1. CTR-Click Through Rate

CTR is Click Through Rate. It means that ratio of the number of times your ad was clicked to the number of times ad was displayed. It would be displayed in percentage(%).

The number of times ad displayed on your site is called impression. That is if you are placed 3 ads (of the same type) on your website when a visitors come to your site and see your ad in full(completely loaded ad), then you will get 3 impressions from it. Most advertisers don't permit to place more than 3 ads. When you are placed more than 3 ads on your website you will get the maximum of 3 impressions.

For example, if you get CTR is 1%, it means that your ad had received 10 clicks from 1000 impressions.

That is (10/1000)*100=1%.

The importance of CTR-Click Through Rate is higher CTR results in lowering of Cost Per Click.
A higher CTR will ensure a higher quality score of the keywords. Also, it means that you will get more money from ads.

2. CPC- Cost Per Click

CPC- Cost Per Click is the amount you get for one click from your ad. That is if CPC is $1, it means that you will get $1 per one click. If you get 2 clicks on you your ad you will get $2.

But most of the advertisers don’t give that much of money for your ad. For the beginner, you will get approximately CPC of $0.1 to $1. Values may be changed according to your search traffic.

3. CPM-Cost Per Mile(Impression).

CPM-Cost Per Mile(Impression) is an amount you get per 1000 impressions.

For example, your CPM is $1, it means that you will get $1 from 1000 impressions.

That is for 1 impression you will get 1/1000=$0.001. If your site has got 2000 impressions in 1 day, you will get revenue of 2000*0.001=$2.

So that if your site has less traffic your revenue will be smaller. At that time CPC-Cost Per Click ads are best. But to get CPC ad is difficult.

4. CPA-Cost Per Action

CPA-Cost Per Action is the amount that you pay for the action taken by the prospect on your website. This action could be any of the following types

A visitor clicking on your banner coming to your site and filling up a simple inquiry form (CPR – Cost Per Registration).
if the visitor makes a purchase (CPS – Cost Per Sale). It could be a flat fee or a percentage commission of the sale made.

Here we will see the 8 Best Ad networks for amateur blogger

Adsense

Adsense is by far the most well-known network, and most agree that their ads tend to perform the best. You can choose from all different types of sizes, text or display ads, and you are able to customize your own ads (colors, font, etc.) to a point. They pay once a month via direct deposit or mailed check, and every month you have to have earned at least $100 to qualify for a payment.
You may get revenue from $0.1 to $1 from Google ads. In Google Adsense CPM also available. You have to place Google ads on your Blogger blog in the appropriate manner. You will get only revenue when you got clicks on ads.

Before applying to any ad network you must read their eligibility criteria. Google Adsense is approval process is simple. They said that this usually takes up to 3 days, but in some cases, it can take a bit longer, But when you apply for Adsense, you will get the reply after 2hrs to 3hrs in your Gmail account.

Different ad formats are available like Text and Display ad, in-feed ads, in-article ad. You can choose any format which suits for your blog.

Also, have different ad size, for example, automatic size responsive ad, 336×286(Large Rectangle) Ad, 720×90 ad, 320×100(large mobile banner) and 300 x 600(Large Skyscraper).

Media.net

Media.net is the ad network powered by Yahoo! and Bing. Their ads look different because they're just these little-colored keyword blocks. Media.net works to ensure that the keyword blocks blend well with your site — they will often use the same color scheme. These ads complement Adsense ads very well mainly because they do look very different from them. Media.net pays monthly with Paypal, but like Adsense, you have to have met that $100 minimum in a month's time to get a payment.

AdThrive

AdThrive is a company that I started looking into after reading about them in “How to Blog For Profit Without Selling Your Soul.” They have their own ad network that displays family-friendly ads, plus they set up DFP (Double Click For Publishers) on their ads once they're installed on your blog. These are display ads, and once you sign up, they will analyze your site and tell you where they think their ads will perform best. Then, they go in and do all the set up for you. AdThrive pays monthly with direct deposit.

Note that AdThrive does have a waiting list, so getting it might take some time. Also, they have two levels of service — AdThrive Edge and AdThrive Premium. You will qualify to get in at the AdThrive Edge level if you have at least 100,000 page views per month. You have to have at least 750,000 page views per month to qualify for AdThrive Premium. Both are good, but with AdThrive Premium you get a little more personalized help with maximizing your ad revenue on your blog.

I have been using AdThrive (at the Edge level) for a few months now and it's been great. Their ads display toward the bottom of my sidebar and in the footer. They have so far paid either on time or early, and they are fast to answer questions when you need to email.

BlogHer

This is an ad network run by BlogHer, a very popular site for women, and I often see their ads appear on sites geared mostly toward women. It's an older ad network, has been around since 2006. They have display ads with the BlogHer branding prominently displayed. As part of this network, you may also get invited to do sponsored posts for various companies, so that's another perk to getting in here.

It's important to note that BlogHer requires you to have their ad at the very top of all your posts and pages, plus you can't have any other ads besides theirs above the fold on your site. That was the deal-breaker for me. I have read mixed reviews on how these ads perform — some are happy with them, and some are not. Still, they are one of the more popular ad networks and I see their ads on lots of blogs.

BlogHer pays monthly with the check or Paypal as long as you've earned at least $25. When you join, you have to sign a one-year contract.

So there you have it, the top five best ad networks for bloggers — based on my own experience and some research. Like I said above, I know there are lots of other networks out there, so feel free to comment below if there are other networks you've used and would recommend.

Chitika

This is the best Google Adsense alternative because it is a CPM-Cost Per Impression network. If you have the good amount of traffic you will get good revenue from it.

For example, your site has good traffic, you will get CPM-Cost Per Impression of approximately $1, may increase. The approval process is very simple. They will easily accept your website if you have the minimum of 50 views per day. But your revenue will be smaller.

You must note that in Chitika, most advertisers avoid domains hosted on free hosting providers like Blogspot, Tumblr, WordPress, etc. Even though your domain might be a high-quality domain, most of the free providers are home to a vast ocean of spam and low-quality sites. Due to this, the largest advertisers choose to avoid the entire domain. For example yoursitename.blogspot.com. So need not worry, place the Chitika ad on your blog and find out by yourself.
