There are several methods we recommend that you can use to promote affiliate products on your blog. You’re only required to register after which you will use your affiliate link in your content to refer to their products. If your reader buys the product you recommended, you get a share of the sale.
For instance, if you have a blog about technology related topics. The readers of your blog will likely be planning to buy a phone, laptop, smart watches or are considering buying one. In this case, why not write a really in-depth review of the phone, laptop and electronic device you use? Writing relevant product reviews with a personal touch is a great way to boost the credibility of your reviews. Giving them your take on using the device, showing videos of it in action, giving details on its specs and why it’s such a great phone (and also, what you don’t like) is a great way to monetize your site.
Review posts
Review posts are one of the most effective methods of promoting affiliate products.
Every buyer wants to purchase a genuine item that is worth the amount the manufacturer is asking. Hence, modern shoppers take time to do their research on the items they intend to buy.
A good review post will introduce the product to the readers visiting your blog and give them a personal touch.
When writing a review, ensure that you are indeed writing a review and not a post to market the affiliate product. An honest product review will give you a higher conversion rate as compared to an advertising review.
Always give the advantages and disadvantages of all the products you review and try to write with authority. It shows you have adequate knowledge of the product and are confident in what you are writing.
We suggest using a personal tone when writing reviews, your visitors will be looking for personal recommendations.
Pick a product that you are more likely to use yourself.
Blog post promotion
Another way to promote your affiliate income is by using affiliate links to your own blog post. When doing this, you should always write targeted-posts. For example, when you are writing about how to select the best microphones for your youtube channels you can add a line at the end saying: “I recommend this particular microphone for youtube channels:” (insert your affiliate link).
Use Coupon codes
Money saving is the biggest marketing incentive. People have been trained that whenever an item on sale it’s a time to pounce on the offer.
If you notice on various coupon sites, they will always ask you to “Click to view coupon”, “Click to go on the merchant site” and so on. The reason for this is to drop the cookie. Here is an image as a reference.
Whenever a customer is buying a product and he sees a coupon box, he searches for “Product Name + coupon”, and with the resulting coupon code, you still receive a good commission for the sale.
Your goal as an affiliate marketer is not just to share the coupon, but to make the customer click your affiliate link, else the sale will not count as yours.
Use Banners on your blog sidebars
When you are getting targeted organic traffic to your blog, banner advertisements work great. I Know Banners are an old tactic that still works quite well in promoting affiliate products.
Banner placement is a worthwhile task but one of the mistakes which many of us regularly make is to add too many banners, which only serves to confuse the reader. To avoid this problem, follow this one
Never place banner ads for similar products on your sidebar: Banner ads work as a recommended product. With multiple similar products, you are confusing your readers in their decision of which product to buy. It is a good idea to place products that are related to a certain niche within that particular niche. For example, in a blog post about WordPress tips, you can place a banner ad for Themes, Plugins, Hosting, Services, etc.
One of the biggest mistakes most affiliate marketers make is that they try to link to their review post or internal post. This is wrong because a product landing page is always optimized for higher conversion, and will obviously be better optimized than your own review post. In the past year, I have started linking directly out to the product landing page instead of to my review post, and this has resulted in my conversions skyrocketing.
Let me know on comment if you have any other tips that you follow on your blog.
Social media campaign
Social media works best when the focus is on the content rather than the offer itself. Promoting affiliate links directly does not work on social media.
Writing blog posts about your product reviews, how-to guides and more can be effective in promoting on social media. It helps if there is an interesting hook to get people to click through.
Keeping up with the advancements in social platforms can be beneficial in the long run.
How to articles of affiliate products?
If your product is technical or needs instructions to be used, you can write a tutorial guide for the product. This is an optimum time for suggesting a product that will solve that problem.
It will also help you to improve your search engine ranking. "How To articles" always perform very well in search engines.
If you have a multi-niche blog, you should try Adrotate plugin to manage your ad.
